Step 1: Contact Houston EB5
1-2 Months
The first step in the EB5 visa program is to contact us and fill out Houston EB5’s investor questionnaire. Once that is complete we will schedule a meeting to discuss your situation further and give you an in-depth outline of the EB5 process, our regional center, and our current EB5 investment opportunities.

Step 2: Receive a Conditional Green Card
12 – 24 Months
In this next step, Houston EB5 will help you fill out your I-526 form. This is the form that proves your investment meets all the requirements of the EB5 visa.
For a quick refresh the requirements are:
- The investment funds are being invested in a new commercial enterprise.
- The investment capital was earned through lawful means.
- At least 10 full-time jobs will be created.
- Proof that your investment is in a Targeted Employment Area if you’ve only invested $500,000.

It’s important to note that your conditional green card is only valid for two years. You must fill out your I-829 application 90 days prior to the expiration of your conditional green card.
Step 3: Apply for Your Permanent Green Card
21 – 24 Months
Here Houston EB5 will help you fill out and file your I-829 application to remove your conditional status. At this point, Houston EB5 will provide proof that your investment did in-fact create 10 full-time jobs.
Upon your I-829 is approval your conditions will be removed from your green card and is then permanent.
You can apply for citizenship after five years of being a permanent resident.
